Rooz Eftekhari, M.B.A., B.A.

Chief Executive Officer
Rooz is a trader, investor, and consultant. He got introduced to investing in the 1970's by his neighbor who was a stockbroker. He bought 1 share of IBM on the NYSE and reinvested the dividends. Thus began a lifelong interest in the power of compound returns. In 1994 in Chicago, he began trading equities learning the business from S&P traders and NASDAQ market makers. He became a short trading talent in global equities and indices. Rising through the ranks he became Director of Equities of a major trading firm. He broadened his acumen to include long/short, relative value, and directional strategies. Rooz is currently focused on helping decision makers formulate strategy. Before launching Grizzly Peak he was a trader at Assent, a SunGard subsidiary, and prior to that Generic Trading [RBC Capital Markets]. He holds a MBA from Manchester Business School in England, where he completed a dissertation on dedollarizing emerging markets, working with Dr. David Newton. He also holds a BA in History, with a focus on Latin America from Purdue University. He has passed the Series 7, 24, 55, 63, and 65 license exams. Perhaps a result of a childhood spent in the boy scouts, he is interested in natural beauty and sustainability. His main pastimes are painting and the quest for the perfect cup of coffee.
